Summary and objectives

The Security sector is considerably evolving and permanently integrating new disruptive technologies in a rather fragmented framework.

Through a sustainable approach, the EU-funded SecurIT project aims at creating a new global competitive security industrial value chain by improving the integration of innovative security systems, as well as the integration of privacy and security with respect to ethics, legal and social challenges. Overall, the project’s aim will be to support the development of collaborative projects allowing prototyping and experimentation of top-notch technological solutions in the field of security to adress the whole issues of safe public spaces, territories and critical infrastructures.

The project is structured in three major axes:

- Demand analyses on the Security market, with integrators and final users (including industrial players, public authorities, managers of critical infrastructures, etc.) through the identification of end-users's needs and common use cases ;

- Identification of technological solutions in Europe (solutions and services for digital and physical security);

- Matchmaking activities to facilitate the SME's consortium building for the applications to the 2 Open Calls for Projects that will be launched by SecurIT.

In total, SecurIT will support and select 63 best-in-class collaborative projects developped by 126 SMEs across Europe and will provide over 3.5M€ of FSTP. The project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101005292.
