Achievements
A strategic initiative leaded by the Railway Innovation Hub will successfully complete its BIM classification in 2020.
Twenty-four entities and companies are working in this initiative in order to achieve a unified BIM classification for the Spanish railway sector.
“Building Information Modelling” methodology is already being implemented in railway projects, as in many other sectors. This classification originated from the collaboration of a number of companies and entities, adding its specific knowledge and experience in the railway sector.
The workgroup initiated its activities in December 2019, and will successfully complete this classification for the BIM Strategic Line during 4Q 2020. This BIM classification will achieve railway actives standardization along its life-cycle, applying it in an innovative way in the railway projects development in Spain.
The collaboration results will be public domain, as a RIH and the creators’ contribution, aimed to boost railway innovation sector.
Companies participating in the initiative, besides coordinators INECO and GRANT THORNTON, are: ABENGOA-INABENSA, ACTISA, AKKA, APOGEA, AYESA, AZVI, BELGORAIL, CEMOSA, COMSA, DASSAULT SYSTÈMES, ENYSE, FCC CONSTRUCCIÓN, FERROVIAL, INGENIERÍA IN SITU, SDEA SOLUTIONS, SENER, SIEMENS and SISTEM, the Technology Centres TECNALIA and CETEMET, as well as the COLEGIO DE INGENIEROS DE CAMINOS, CANALES Y PUERTOS DE MADRID.
