In 2020, the European Commission held a public consultation on the White Paper on Artificial Intelligence.
The City of Amsterdam and Nesta, together with the Mozilla Foundation, AI Now Institute and the City of Helsinki, also published a position paper asking the Commission to develop common European standards for the public procurement of algorithmic systems.
Following these developments, the European Commission’s DG GROW are organising a webinar on the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and public procurement on 25 June at 11am CET.
The webinar will discuss how to build trust in AI for citizens and businesses.
Key topics are:
- How to create contract clauses for the procurement of Artificial Intelligence
- Experts sharing the latest developments and first practical experiences
- How to build trust in the procurement of AI and how to join the discussion
The webinar will be hosted by Ivo Locatelli, Senior Expert at DG GROW, and Katharina Knapton-Vierlich, head of Unit DG GROW. Speakers are Jeroen Naves, IT lawyer at Pels Rijcken, and Linda van de Fliert, Project Manager at Public Tech City of Amsterdam.
The moderator, Birgitte Kofod Olsen has co-authored a white paper on data ethics and public procurement, which can be accessed here.
