Overview
About us
Pole SCS (Secured Communicating Solutions), created in 2005, is an ICT cluster based in the SUD region, in France, and gathers more than 300 members, including companies (and 70% of SMEs), research centers and educational institutions mainly in the fields of microelectronics, IoT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Security and also in telecommunications and software domains. The cluster represents 60 000 jobs in these fields, 26 multinational companies, 1200 researchers in the public sector and 18 educational institutions training 1500 engineers per year. Its aim is to promote the development of competitive R&D projects between all these players with the support of local communities, in order to design and develop new solutions targeting high-growth markets such as IoT, smart cities, smart homes and smart buildings, smart grids, Industry 4.0, logistics and transport or e-health. It also aims to contribute to the creation of an appropriate ecosystem for the overall regional ICT landscape, especially through the development of SMEs. SCS is also offering numerous services and products to its members, including access to technologies, to various platforms and to expertise and is promoting digital innovation to foster growth and employment in specific growing markets.

Achievements
SCS has signed partnerships with large companies like Telecom Italia, Mahindra Comviva and Giesecke & Devrient. These partnerships consist of the organisation of individual meetings between SMEs from SCS network and further, and responsible for special departments in these large companies scouting new technologies available in SMEs and startups. These partnerships have lead to the development of at least 5 proof of concept between these large companies and some SMEs of SCS cluster network.

Project name
SCS cluster is involved in the CLUSGRID project "Clusters for Smart Grid", funded under the COSME Cluster Excellence call. This project aims at improving the management of the clusters of the consortium to provide better services to their SMEs, especially in the Smart Grids area. The consortium gathers 6 clusters from Poland (Eastern Development Agency is the coordinator), Bulgaria and Spain including SCS which role as the only ESCA Gold-Labelled cluster will be to mentor other clusters in getting ESCA labels and improving cluster management, towards excellence.
SCS is a founding member of the EIT Digital (www.eitdigital.eu), a leading European digital innovation and entrepreneurial education organisation driving Europe’s digital transformation.
SCS is the coordinator of the Cluster4Smart project, aiming at answering the cluster managers’ needs for competences in the context of the 4th industrial revolution, providing an online vocational training for the staff of clusters, business network and their stakeholders. As a main outcome, an online training platform (http://training.cluster4smart.eu/) in open access to all clusters’ and business networks’ staff, but also to students and any person willing to complete their skills in collective intelligence management to generate creativity and innovation from diverse stakeholders, and their knowledge of the key digital technologies revolutionising all industries.
SCS is the coordinator of the IoT4Industry project (H2020 INNOSUP-01), which has been awarded as European partnership of the Year 2020 by ECCP.
