Achievements
Since our set up in October 2012 we have been growing up in a quantity and quality way. Our members form a big network inside the value chain of the packaging sector and thus allow to create innovative and collaborative R+D+I projects.
Also, our constant moving around different cluster policies regions, in an international scene, make us build strong and trusted relationships with other entites and clusters in the packaging sector o related.

Project name
BSR Innovation Express
Establishment of transnational and crosssectoral collaborations between two Food clusters and one Packaging cluster and their members, in order to facilitate the internationalization and the development of transnational competencies in the cluster member companies as well as in the clusters themselves. The clusters involved are the two food clusters FoodNetwork from Denmark and AINS Cluster of Nutrition and Health from Catalonia and the Packaging Cluster from Catalonia. Moreover, there will be a collaboration and project support from Packbridge from Sweden.
COSME FoodPackLab (Strand 1)
The FoodPackLab project brings together photonics and packaging technologies with one of the oldest industries ever: the food industry. The FoodPackLab consortium will then: 1) Foster synergies between photonics, packaging and food industries towards current worldwide challenges: food processing, security and hygiene, reducing of food waste and Circular Economy in packaging procedures. 2) Positioning Europe as a reference in the food industry outside of the continent, developing new food value chain methodologies, with special emphasis to food packaging, and export them to third countries facing new challenges. Bringing together the companies, technological centers and research groups of the consortium clusters will give rise to new opportunities that, otherwise, would have never appeared themselves if everyone had worked alone.
COSME AdPack 2.0 (Strand 2)
The purpose of this project is to foster cross-sectoral cooperation between the European clusters in the partnership and their SME members, as well as to support their SME members in going international (Canada, China, United States) and positioning them in the advanced smart packaging global value chain. This will be done through the establishment of an ESCP formed by 6 European clusters which bring together different competencies to apply a cross-sectoral approach for the development of the advanced smart packaging global value chain. In this regard, the partnership brings together clusters involved with the final product (packaging), the application market (food), cross-cutting technology clusters (nanotechnologies, microelectronics, software, telecommunications and plasma technologies) and new materials (plastics, polymers and biopolymers).
COSME FoodPackLab (Strand 2)
It aims to encourage collaboration between groups and business networks in the strategic field of food security. It connects groups of four different sectors (agriculture, food processing, packaging and deep technology) and 5 European countries (Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy and Spain) to help European SMEs access new global value chains and ensure their position as innovation leaders in specific industries. Missions to India and South Africa will be done.
