Three functional areas of “KOMMUNAR” potential involvement within the space sector have been identified: communication with satellites, optical and radar payloads for Earth observation systems, ground support equipment for tests and satellites integration (mechanical, electrical, optical). Our members obtain a chance to put effort in space sector, make use of their ICT competences to develop industry – ICT and space sectors are closely connected. They can also look into this innovative activities – only a few entities have a chance to operate on this market. Our committed participants have an opportunity to establish cooperation with Ukrainian entities. Moreover, Polish Armaments Group is strongly involved in “KOMMUNAR” development as well as MCICT members. One of the new domains of MCICT is willing to explore is the space sector in Poland.

The main objectives of the incubator are: R&D support, entrepreneurship support, innovation support, cooperation between enterprises and local authorities support, prevention of unemployment, increasing competitiveness of relevant markets, industries. The VOICE ecosystem focuses upon the ICT market and its key driver software and IT services (online & m-applications, open data apps, social networking apps, games, etc.). VOICE addresses the needs of B2C segment: individuals, students, university graduates and young entrepreneurs, etc.; B2B segment: universities and educational institutions, investors and venture capitals, mentors & innovation consultants, enterprises, individual consultants and mentors, traditional business incubators, start-up associations & non-profit organizations supporting innovation & entrepreneurship, etc.; B2G segment: European Commission, national governments and national ministries of innovation, growth and entrepreneurship, EC-BICs (European Commission -Business and Innovation Centers), governmental institutions and agencies (i.e., patent offices (national, regional, international) & Intellectual Property Organizations) and the community at large (wide comprehensiveness of the VOICE). VOICE will enable business entities to offer their services to a broad community, have community-driven indications to serve as an “initial” market-based proof of concept mechanism for investors, VCs, and companies that want to buy-out specific ideas and/or prototypes that have been developed by VOICE’s incubators. VOICE will enable government sector to have an overview of the EU and global innovation and entrepreneurial activity, while facilitate the participatory, development of community-driven national and regional policies in relation to innovation and entrepreneurship via the VOICE Innovation Observatory. Mazovia Cluster ICT participants obtained an opportunity to peer into this innovative technology, draw inspiration to make use of their own innovation potential. MaxiMapa is an example of our best practices, our members have got a chance to follow through the process – from the very beginning to the final stage. MaxiMapa is constantly developing its innovative potential, creating new projects under the MCICT.

VOICE – Virtual Open Incubation Ecosystem
Mazovia Cluster ICT is participating in an international project called VOICE (Virtual Open Incubation Ecosystem). The project is funded by the European Commission (ICT policy support programme, competitiveness and innovation framework programme). VOICE is an international virtual innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem based on open innovation, crowdsourcing and co-creation principles that have no physical location as opposed to traditional business incubators. Voice is the on-line platform that will help bridge the gap in the broader entrepreneurial development ecosystem by providing the virtual innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Semantic Baltic-assessing and developing tools & techniques to process BIG DATA in the Baltic Sea Region
Semantic Baltic is aimed to facilitate daily collaboration among R&D Institutions and their business and administrative partners in the Baltic Sea Region, by addressing key problem related to information analyses. This project is creating a new, semantically-driven framework for such a challenge and builds condition for international R&D collaboration. The project is using state of an art approach for information analysis so helps to narrow the gap and increases the international presence of R&DIs from Eastern, South-Eastern and Southern shores of the Baltic Sea, by supporting their collaboration with better-developed R&Ds across the BSR.

CECIL – Cluster Excellence for Creative Industries Leadership
CECIL consortium unites European clusters to drive cluster excellence and provide top professional support services in the digital cultural and creative industries (CCI) sector (ICT for CCI). The consortium is integrated by clusters with different levels of expertise (without ESCA label, with bronze and with gold label) which provides a solid and dynamic internal structure for peer-to-peer learning that will be enriched with strong activities for the international exchange of experiences. All participants will take part in the benchmarking activity, increase their level of expertise in theoretical and practical training activities and integrate the lessons learnt into their clusters’ strategies. The consortium will analyse the currently provided services to design new ones that better adjust to the committed participants’ needs and/or upgrade current services. A study visit will provide the necessary practical insight. A targeted mentoring activity will be carried out to encourage clusters to engage in cluster excellence activities and help them to prepare for this path. Additional dissemination activities will raise awareness of the benefits of investing in cluster excellence activities among the own clusters’ committed participants, to other clusters and regional/national and European policymakers. The consortium envisages concrete follow-up activities, such as the creation of the first European Strategic Cluster Partnership (ESCP) on digital cultural and creative industries.
