About us

The main goal of TOOLAS is to provide and develop cooperation favorable infrastructure, comfortable environment for pooling of cluster members' R&D activities and related competences for implementation of innovative projects, resulting in higher value added products and technologies. Cluster members work together to develop custom advanced laser micromachining systems (optical engines, lasers and isolated components) and are active in sectors of laser and light technologies, IT, robotics, electronics and related sectors.

Achievements

1 patented technology (laser scribing solutions: saphire, silicon carbide and lithium niobate, and its advancements)

2 international B2B events organised (Baltic Photonics 2018, Baltic Photonics 2019). The Baltic Photonics 2019 attracted more than 60 photonics business leaders from 11 European countries.

Cluster Members are participating in the Future Technologies Digital Innovation Hub (FTDIH) project. The implementation of the project will promote digitization processes and implementation of digital innovations in the most important sectors of the Lithuanian economy (agriculture, food industry, energy), as well as contribute to the development of high technologies (lasers, optics and space), thus increasing Lithuania's competitiveness in EU and world markets.

Further information

Cluster coordinator is active social partner for policy and financing institutions in Lithuania and abroad, and presents cluster members concise information about topical projects in the area of R&D. Cluster members receive consulting and guidance on funding opportunities for R&D projects and participation in supporting actions (participation in specialized exhibitions, B2B meetings, business missions). Organised discussions within the cluster and with partnering institutions, actions and projects, project management and all the simplifications in paperwork – these are also tasks of cluster coordinator. Cluster coordinator is experienced in taking ideas onto paper, teamwork with students (international DEMOLA network), and catalyzing ideas into projects, altogether supplying the work-and-control infrastructure. Best practices from this experience are used for smooth function of cluster.

Further information

Cluster coordinator - VITP - has an ongoing project to address the aforementioned markets through participation in B2B meetings and events of regional importance, and since end of 2018 also represents TOOLAS in cluster-specific events.
