In 2000 Food-Processing Initiative e.V. (registered member association) was established and developed since then towards an acknowledged innovation network in the food sector. FPI is competent and trusted intermediate between industry, science and politics. FPI´s networks comprise companies (food and drink producers, food technology, ingredients, cleaning technologies, IT solutions, etc.), research (Universities and knowledge institutes in the region), organisations (branch associations, chambers of commerce, etc.) as well as local and regional public bodies.

The cluster management team is working together for 2 decades and has well-established and trusted relations to many SMEs from the food industry and the technology providers as well as to researchers from universities and RTOs. Based on these long-term relations, we can assure direct interaction with and involvement of relevant actors and target groups. Moreover the cluster management has vast experiences from managing innovation projects together with industry and research on regional, national and European level.
