Summary and objectives
EXTRATEX partnership is composed of 6 clusters across 5 different regions, Italy, Spain, Germany, Slovakia and Czech Republic, these last two from less developed regions. The partnership brings together clusters from textile, automotive, plastic and Safety and Security in industry. Thus, the partnership has the common objective to implement strategic partnerships and joint collaboration initiatives for a mutual transfer of knowledge, innovation capacities and its possibilities between these target sectors, through raising cluster excellence in the production and value chains of sustainable solutions, as well as the on-the-job-training for the staff and managers, experience sharing and market access and identification of partnerships.
Project refers to all cluster organisations and business network organisations, SMEs that are cluster members and scaling- up support organisations from COSME participating countries. Besides, regional authorities are considered potential target group in EXTRATEX project. This set of goals will be achieved through the implementation of the following actions:
- Enhancing cluster managers’ skills: 3 bronze labels and 3 silver labels and a benchmarking exercises, offering new add-value support services by cluter organisations for supporting the growth and competitiveness of their SME members;

Developing 6 individual clusters strategies and its roadmaps;

Developing a comprehensive strategy for the cluster partnership;

Organising joint collaboration activities: two learning events and study-visits, 3 interregional matchmaking events (C2C and B2B)

Supporting the implementation of the ClusterXchange pilot scheme; where 59 visits are planned, of which 30 are SMEs, and 17 are non-ESCP-4x members, from different sectors; and

Dissemination and awareness raising activities

- knowledge and technology transfer processes between participants enterprises;
- trigger technological or business synergies;
- increase of inter-regional and cross-sector cooperation;
- matchmaking events, either B2B or C2C;
- increase networking capacities and reciprocal knowledge of the sectors;
- development of innovative and sustainable solutions;
- enhancing cluster managers' skills;
- 59 visits, including 30 SMEs and 17 non-ESCP-4X members.
