Fortune favours the Fevery

  • Ecolabel pioneer in Belgian hospitality sector
  • Actions between 2010 and 2015 reduce power consumption by 11 % and gas and fuel by 33 %

Hotel Fevery is a 10-room family hotel located in Bruges that became the first Belgian-based hotel to be awarded EU Ecolabel certification.

The hotel invested in a number of energy-saving technologies to fulfil the Ecolabel criteria on energy efficiency, including the purchase of high-energy class technologies (A+ and over), installation of a new boiler and heat pump dryer, upgrade of a ventilation system, as well as double-glazed windows. Furthermore, the hotel started buying 100 % green certified renewable energy and producing hot water themselves with their solar boiler.

Key results

Thanks to the initiatives inspired by the Ecolabel certification process, Hotel Fevery managed to reduce its electricity consumption by 11 % and gas and fuel by 33 % between 2010 and 2015.
