Sometimes the small things deliver the biggest savings

  • Food producer identifies simple yet effective energy savings in its heating and cooling processes
  • New stoves and ovens save € 13 200 in annual energy costs, while a new cooling system saves € 12 000

Denito is a Bulgarian producer of salads, mayonnaise, sauces and packed vegetable located in Burgas.

The company underwent a Cleaner Production assessment process, which identified interesting energy-saving measures.

One of the first measures identified in the evaluation was to replace its electric stoves and ovens with gas ones. It also developed and implemented an integrated system to better control its cooling equipment.

Key results

The first measure called for a significant investment (€ 100 000) which reduces energy consumption by 434 244 kWh and saves Denito € 13 200 per annum.

The second measure cost only € 6 000, but results in yearly energy savings of 115 600 kWh or € 12 000.
