About us
- Improve cluster member companies´access to the modern technologies, device equipment and equipment needed for R&D activities through joint technology centers.
- Encouraging its members to take advantage of collective research opportunities and intensive utilization outcomes of joint research and development activities by launching innovative processes and products into production.
- Support the international activities of the cluster and its member companies in selected foreign territories through the cluster internationalization incl. support for international technology transfer.
- Strengthen joint promotion and presentation of cluster member companies through joint participation in trade fairs and exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, organizing professional conferences and seminars.
- Further develop mutual cooperation among KČN members by organizing joint meetings, events, joint purchase of products and services and also members cooperation in the production and supply of large interior units in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Cluster of Czech Furniture Manufacturers and its member organizations are involved in a number of research and development projects. Some of these projects are financed from the European Union funds for science and research or from the funds of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Cluster of Czech Furniture Manufacutrers (KČN) initiated as international partnership: FURNITURE AND WOODWORKING CLUSTER PARTNERSHIP. The partnership was established by signing the Memorandum on Collaboration in the Furniture and Woodworking industry on 29 October 2019. The partnership was concluded by KČN and 4 other partners: Basque Habitat, Wood, Office and Hospitality Cluster (Spain); Cluster Arredo e Sistema Casa (Italy); Interior Design Cluster Sweden and Wood Industry Cluster (Slovenia). The basic motivation for establishing a partnership was an international cooperation in the field of scientific research, technology transfer and KNOW-HOW transfer as well as preparation of joint international projects leading to European Strategic Cluster Partnership.

Project name
Virtual Educational Programme for Furniture Branch
ID of the project: CZ/10/LLP-LdV/TOI/134011
The main goal of the project is to create explanatory dictionary for furniture branch to increase the attractiveness of vocational education in furniture branch. This dictionary will be supported by e-learning module which will help to get an overview and to simplify understanding of specific terms and standards of furniture functionality requirements.
The project target groups are students of vocational schools, pedagogues, B2B, designers and furniture manufacturers.
Partners of the project: BDS Sofia, Bulgary TZÚ Brno, Czech republic KCN, Czech republic IHD Dresden, Germany G.M.I.T. Letterfrack, Ireland TUZVO Zvolen, Slovakia This project is coordinated by Mendel University Brno.
Duration of the project is: 1.10.2010 - 30.9.2012

Boosting excellence in the European lighting value chain (BRILLIANT)
The BRILLIANT project will support 7 industrial clusters in lighting, furniture and construction to exploit their potential as an industrial network by enhancing the skills and know-how of 14 cluster managers in managing their cluster organizations to better serve their members' needs and expectations. Managers develop complete and long-term cluster strategies based on outstanding cluster values. BRILLIANT will support learning and networking across clusters to explore and embrace new business. Partners will also use ClusterXchange to facilitate international cross-industry collaboration between clusters, SMEs and development organizations.
Duration of the project is: 2020-2022
This project will be supported by EC under COS-CLUSTER-2018-03-02 (European Cluster Excellence Programme).
