Overview
About us
CARA is an association aiming to be the leading French cluster in Europe addressing the global challenges of urban mobility and vehicles of tomorrow, that fulfills two missions:
- Represent the regional automotive and industrial vehicles sector
- Support the transformation of passengers and goods transport systems in urban environments.
CARA is representing the mobility sector in the French industrial region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes within six branches of transports: automotive, industrial vehicles, rail transport, river transport, cable transport and active mobility. The cluster draws on collective intelligence to come up with innovative solutions to the new challenges posed by transport sector. From the drawing board to market launch, the cluster implements collective actions: research and innovation projects, pilots in real life situation, and measures for the economic and industrial development of its members. CARA has an expertise in specific mobility sectors such as autonomous and connected vehicles, electromobility (both BEV and FCEV), safety and security, vehicle architecture, mobility practices and governance, intelligent transport systems, and motorisation and drivetrain.
