Summary and objectives

O1 – Create a Strategic Partnership of world-class Life Sciences and Healthtech clusters aimed at strengthening the organisations’ excellence at managerial and operative levels.

O2 – Build on the clusters’ own and complementary capacities and services to strengthen their services and develop and implement a joint portfolio of programs to better support SMEs within their ecosystems and across Europe.

O3 – Promote cross-sector and cross-border collaboration on a European-wide scale, strengthening both clusters’ and SMEs’ ability to face the challenges of digital transformation.

O4 – Support Digital Health SMEs in their specific challenges, thus contributing to the European strategy on Digitalisation of the Medical Technologies and Healthcare industry and the transformation of European healthcare systems.

O5 – Develop and implement the "ClusterXchange" scheme, building immersive agendas of activities especially designed to satisfy the networking, learning and collaboration needs of clusters and stakeholders (both host and visiting organisations) from the partners’ ecosystems and across Europe.

Results expected

Through their strategic partnership, the 5 clusters seek to share visions, learn from their peers, identify (in each case and as a consortium) organisational and operational capacitybuilding needs to address, and implement improvement actions.

Analysis of the consortium SMEs’ support portfolio. Identification of synergies and gaps to optimize own programs and develop a range of joint services to benefit a wider cohort of companies. These services should be relevant to the topic of digitalisation and to the partners’ respective ecosystems.

Mapping the consortium’s ecosystems, digital maturity and related value chains and promote crosssector and cross-border collaborations to close existing gaps in business and skills. This should help SMEs face the challenges in the digital reality.

The Digital Health subsector has specific needs to be addressed from the Life Sciences and Health clusters. Digital Health is the future of Health in the EU and this partnership intends to contribute to this.

A unique proposal that goes beyond the "ClusterXchange" scheme to combine the pilot activities of the joint portfolio with the mobility scheme. Exposure to pilot activities (portfolio) along with networking and collaboration between clusters, DIH, SMEs, scaling- up support organisations, large companies, regional authorities and innovation agencies ("ClusterXchange").
