Economic Development Agency (IDEPA)
Asturias clusters network is coordinated by the Economic Development Agency of the Principality of Asturias (IDEPA). IDEPA is a public body that integrates the commitment of the regional Government and social and economic agents with the sustainable development of Asturias (north of Spain). It is the hub of a complete infrastructure of instruments for promotion that aims at both the improvement of competitiveness of Asturian companies and also the recruitment of new investments to revitalize, create wealth and introduce new activities in the regional business environment. Encouraging productive investment and the creation of new industrial companies and services associated with industry. The agency is also responsible for implementing the smart specialization strategy (RIS3) in our region.
Asturias cluster programme
Since 2007 IDEPA has been carrying out work on developing and strengthening clusters, turning them into an invaluable tool for achieving greater integration and structuring of the Regional System for Innovation.
IDEPA develops a specific programme for cluster organizations. In addition to the financial support, we promote cluster excellence through training and benchmarking and we encourage cluster collaboration. Through the programme the cluster organizations have access to:
- Specific training programmes for cluster managers e.g. European Foundation for Cluster Excellence, Microeconomics of Competitiveness - MOC Courses...
- Networking activities between the members, in order to exchange know how and best practiques
- Participation in international cluster matchmaking events
- Promotion and visibility through the network
