About us

The Albanian ICT Association was established in 2007 as an initiative of Albanian enterprises working to address the needs of the IT sector

Vision

The transformation of the ICT industry as the most vital and strategic industry towards future economical industry of the country, the internationalisation of its members and other non-members, and the establishment of a strong collaboration in between the main actors of the industry The Private Business, The Government , the NGO and the Academia.

Main objectives are:

  • To be the leading voice and the representative of IT sector in the Government;
  • To support the internationalisation of its members and the ICT industry as overall
  • To develop, strengthen and promote the IT industry in the country;
  • To develop the IT export services;
  • To become the leader in promoting professional and quality services in the country;
  • To create partnerships with other associations;
  • To promote education and improve high school and university IT curricula.

Trainings

AITA trainings are designed to address the obstacles concerning skill-development by searching the newest IT programmes and initiatives. Its vision is to increase the local capabilities in the sector of ICT through professional and competent trainings, specially designed to meet the need of the local industry, while keeping on with international technology trends.

AITA projects 

AITA is focused on generating projects and implementing activities that have direct impact on the ICT sector, its members and on the wider IT community in Albania, aiming also at a sustainable growth and development of the association itself.

AEP: Academic Exchange for Progress, (2012-2014)

AEP is a project undertaken by representative bodies from Norway, Macedonia, Albania (partnering AITA, etc.) and Kosovo.

The project develops under HERD: Programme in Higher Education, Research and Development in the Western Balkans 2011-2014, developed by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

The overall aim of the HERD Programme is to contribute to economic growth and social development through increased cooperation in higher education and research and development in the Western Balkans.

The aim of the AEP project is to facilitate (1) academic exchange between the host country, Norway and the MAK (Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo) countries and (2) capacity building in the MAK countries.

AITA was the project manager for Albania while AITA member companies will directly benefit from the opportunity to receive specialized staff that will work for them as inters and will bring theoretical and practical knowledge gained in Norway. The member companies benefited from the improved curriculum in the branch of Applied Informatics at the Faculty of Economics at University of Tirana.

IT Outsourcing in Albania 2016-2017, funded by RISI Albania

AITA is committed to develop the IT Outsourcing sector in Albania through promotion services.

The objectives of the project are:

  1. Enable AITA to develop effective marketing services for its member companies, to generate revenues through marketing services and increase sustainability;

b) Enable AITA to promote IT sector in foreign markets and help IT companies to grow and increase employment;

Project name

Albanian IT Process Improvement and Certification Program, (2008 – 2010),  The program was implemented in collaboration with GIZ ORF, European Software Institute Center Eastern Europe (based in Bulgaria), and Albanian IT Association (AITA). AITA was seriously committed on promoting regional and international standards for a better management of companies in the information technology sector, particularly among the AITA member companies.

Albanian IT Process Improvement and Certification Program, (2011 – 2012), http://aita-al.org/it-mark/  AITA was seriously committed on promoting regional and international standards for a better management of companies in the information technology sector, particularly among the AITA member companies.The most important project in this direction was IT Mark project funded by USAID Rritje Albania and main implementer ESI Center Eastern Europe, which aims at supporting 5 member companies of AITA working in the field of software development and service delivery in the field of IT to reach the IT Mark certification.
