From October 3 to 5 2017, Silicon Saxony took part in the Business Connection Forum in Albany organized by the Center of Economic Growth and Silicon Europe Worldwide. The three day conference covered not only information about regional programs and initiatives of Upstate NY but also technological sessions regarding Autonomous Operations, Health Applications, Smart Cities and Advanced Electronics as well as newest research of American and European research institutes.

Silicon Saxony visited Albany already in 2013. The high-tech cluster signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) at that time, during the North American travels of Saxon Prime Minister Stanislaw Tillich. Only a year later, Silicon Saxony delegated, funded by SMWA, Dr. Udo Nothelfer, the former managing director of the Globalfoundries Dresden, as a location ambassador to Albany. Already Dr. Nothelfer paved the way for Saxon companies to North America. An initiative that has continued this year as part of the Business Connection Forum (BCF) Albany and will be continued within the framework of Silicon Europe's newly signed MoU with NY loves Nanotech.

Silicon Saxony has been partner of Silicon Europe from its beginnings and also contributes to its internationalization initiative Silicon Europe Worldwide.
