From the beginning of the confinement, the Catalan Clusters network has been united to help the more than 2,300 companies that are part of this network, and has launched a program of 5 transversal webinars on tools for business management, as well as an online platform, Copernic, in which to consult doubts, review resources or be in contact with the network of professionals.

Continuing with the alarm state activated, and given the good feedback received that the different sessions have had, it was jointly decided to give continuity to these sessions and a second part has begun with various topics such as cybersecurity, on-line communication or e-commerce.

These jointly organized webinars are held weekly every Tuesday and Thursday. The first webinar on Microsoft tools to manage more productive teams remotely began on Tuesday, 14th of April, where the experts detailed how to work with Office365 and how to extract data from Excel and PowerBI. Also a second online session with Cristina Masachs on communication as a key tool to remain visible, differential and close in times of crisis, last Thursday, 16th of April.

A series of inspiring, beneficial and motivating workshops is coming, such as the one held on the 21st of April in which the keys to cybersecurity will be given, in a context of teleworking, to protect our systems from external attacks that may harm our company; or the one of the 23rd April, which will analyze the labor and Social Security keys with Cuatrecasas regarding the measures taken by the Government to face the health crisis.

The following week, 28th of April, it will be explained how teleworking can go from being an obligation or an imposition caused by the situation, to an opportunity to automate certain processes and bet on digitization in favor of productivity and cost reduction. In tune with the digitization process, online communication is one of the fundamental keys and the topic to be discussed on the 30th of April.

On Tuesday 5th of May, it will be exposed the threats and opportunities of e-commerce together with the expert Santiago Sánchez, from The eTailers; and Thursday 7th of May we will have a session on Design Thinking techniques and tools that can be done remotely during confinement and beyond it. The objective is to share methods to explore, devise and prioritize new opportunities and business ideas.

To finish this second batch of webinars, two more will be held on the 12th and 14th of May. The first one will talk about the manufacturing process of approved solutions for hospital centers and this second part will end with Xavier Lesuavage talking about business transformation in the post COVID-19.

These actions, aimed at promoting cooperation between the ecosystem as well as to transfer information, will be carry on if the members want to and will be adapted to the circumstances we are experiencing at the time.

About clusters: Clusters are non-profit organizations that group companies and entities that operate in the same sector or market segment, and that collaborate with each other to achieve more and better business opportunities. Currently 2,300 companies and agents from the environment are part of 30 clusters in Catalonia, which represent 30% of the economy’s GDP (74,000 million euros in aggregate turnover). Cluster-associated organizations generate more than 300,000 jobs. According to data released by ACCIÓ, 76% of cluster member companies say that being part of these organizations makes them more competitive, while 91% invests in R+D and innovation.
