The Packaging Cluster prepares the last quarter of the year, with weekly activities and conferences with professionals from the packaging sector

The Packaging Cluster team has worked during the summer to prepare the last four months of the year and offer a list of services to its associates, in line with current times and trends that mark the industry. Ideas that arise during the Brainstorming and Design Thinking sessions carried out and which in turn collect the requirements and demands that have been received by the member companies in recent months.

The topics that will mark the nature and orientation of these sessions will be mainly the digitization of processes and new applied technologies, the current legal regulations and the European context in terms of sustainability, the generation of innovation projects or the relationship with other sectors, especially, food or beauty packaging.

The activities have been organized both at a private level as an entity, as well as jointly with the support of other clusters, organizations or interest groups, whether from Catalonia or other Autonomous Communities, since the objective is to enrich the content offered and expand the total knowledge. At the same time, we will participate in Packaging Fairs and Congresses, of a virtual or hybrid nature, respecting health security measures and travel restrictions.

To begin, on the 14th of September, the 3rd Meeting of the Board of Directors will be held in 2020, the second that is carried out online, to expose and approve the direction to be followed by the entity, thus ending the year.

Later, we will share with Alejandro Teodoro, who directs the Branded Content, Special Actions and Strategic Projects unit of the Godó Group, the Clúster de l'Energía Eficient de Catalunya and the Clúster Foodservice how to coordinate our team at a communicative level so that the content that generated in the post-covid era brings together creativity, strategy and analysis, in the conference “Branded Content and how to communicate in the post-covid era” on the 18th of September.

El 25 de  setembre, es durà a terme la sessió de Recycled  Materials in Food Packaging, en el marc del Match2Pack 2020, on diferents professionals de marques com Ikea, Spitz o Tetra Pak ens parlaran sobre l'aplicació de nous materials sostenibles en l'envasament de productes alimentaris. On the 25th of September, the Recycled Materials in Food Packaging session will take place, within the framework of Match2Pack 2020, where different professionals from brands such as Ikea, Spitz or Tetra Pak will talk about the applications of new sustainable materials in product packaging food.

To close the month of September, we will focus the session of the 29th of September on the New legal framework for food waste and packaging, which we have co-organized with the Clúster Foodservice.

Finally, it is worthy to mention the next conferences that we are preparing and that may attract the attention of the industry, such as the Food Packaging Summit (2nd of October), the Workshop to measure social and environmental results (14th of October), the VIII Strategic Dive (12-13th of November) or the Recycling Week (21-29th of November). Likewise, we will participate, as far as possible, in international fairs such as Sustainability in Packaging Europe 2020 (3-5th of November).
