Nine European companies show in Chile their solutions for smart grids to the country's main electricity distributors

The companies presented to the main entities of the electricity sector in Chile their solutions and technological advances for smart grids. The participants also had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the perspectives of local distributors in the deployment of smart grids as well as the ambitious plans of Chilean public institutions for the coming years.

Within REINA PLUS framework, from the 10th to the 14th of July it was organized a business mission to Chile, in which nine European companies related with the electric sector participated: ACLARA, ARTECHE, ELDU, INDRA, INGETEAM, ORMAZABAL, TECNALIA, URIARTE SAFYBOX y ZIV.

During the week, the companies had the opportunity to hold meetings with representatives from three of the country's main electricity distributors (CHILQUINTA, CGE and SAESA), with the main public institutions in the regulatory area (Ministry of Energy, National Energy Commission , Superintendency of Electricity and Fuels and National Electrical Coordinator), with the associations of companies of electrical distribution and generators (Association of Electrical and Generating Companies of Chile) and with research entities such as the Anacleto Angelini Center of the Catholic University of Chile.

During these meetings, European companies were able to present their solutions for smart grids and identify business opportunities with the main Chilean distributors. In addition, through the contacts made, first-hand access has been made to the development plans and challenges of the Chilean energy sector in the coming years, especially in the field of smart grid deployment.
