The Smart Systems Integration Conference restarts with a new virtual concept on 27-29 April 2021. Key topics will be the recent developments in the field of Smart Systems along the entire value chain: MEMS / NEMS, photonics, micromechanics, printed functionality, integration of software, connectivity, components and subsystems in smart modules and systems for mobility, energy, industry, agri-food, biomedical applications and healthy living.

The first day – April 27th – will see MESAP and the 5E Consortium particularly active with two unmissable events within the 5E European project!

The conference, led by the EPoSS community, will provide a unique and valuable opportunity to interact with stakeholders in the Smart Systems value chain through technical sessions and strategic panels.

>> In progress the Italian and Spanish pilots of the E2DRIVER project 

The E2DRIVER project, funded by the H2020 European program, is aimed at improving the automotive industry‘s knowledge of energy efficiency measures, a key priority for the EU’s sustainable growth strategy. Despite extensive energy efficiency measures, SMEs still suffer from a knowledge gap in this area and, in particular, are among the largest energy consumers in Europe.

Several companies, from various European countries, have decided to participate in the project precisely to increase their energy efficiency and thus contribute to the global effort to reduce carbon emissions. The pilot actions in progress see in particular the participation of three Italian companies – our member F.O.M.T. S.p.A. and S.I.V.E. S.p.A., and Mollebalestra – and two Spanish companies – FAE and Grupo Mecacontrol.

>>The BOOST4BSO Champions League has started: 4 teams, many challenges, only one winner

The first of the 4 BOOST4BSO Champions League meetings took place on Thursday 14 April 2021, in which 4 teams made up of local and regional European institutions compete on the main issues related to Industry 4.0. The appointment focused on the importance of the assessment in identifying the levels of knowledge and implementation of issues related to digitization. On April 22, 2021, the challenge will instead focus on the impact and implications related to industry 4.0.

>>The MIND4MACHINES project is starting: funding for manufacturing SMEs

The engines are warming up for MIND4MACHINES, the new European project for manufacturing SMEs within the H2020 framework. The initiative aims to support cross-sectoral and cross-border collaborations between manufacturing SMEs, to improve their production processes through the use of digital technologies. MESAP and Silicon Europe Alliance partners invite you to the 7th MINALOGIC Business Meetings, the business convention that brings together international buyers and tech providers on digital technologies, micro-nano electronics, software and photonics. This year the event will be a hybrid of online and in-person meetings. Participation requires registration on the dedicated platform and the compilation of one’s own profile for the management of on-site or virtual B2Bs. The 2020 online edition saw the participation of 250 companies from 15 countries for a total of more than 1000 b2b meetings.
