IoT and Internationalisation - Report from SIdO

Submitted by Frank Boesenberg on 13 April 2017

On April 5th and 6th, staff of Silicon Saxony attended the SIdO conference and exhibition - a 2-day event in Lyon acting as showroom for the intelligent internet of things. Internet of Things became a focal topic within Silicon Saxony already in 2014, the cluster runs a respective focus group and launched several other activities. One of them, the partnership within a project of the IoT-European platform initiative, was the trigger for attending SIdO this year, as the project had a major booth within the exhibition space. In numerous discussions, Silicon Saxony not only made a lot of precious new contacts, mainly from the French IoT community, enforcing thereby also its cooperation with Minalogic, but also spreaded its knowledge on business models for IoT which was gained from the IoT-EPI project UNIFY-IoT. Silicon Saxony thanks the organisers of SIdO and is looking forward to its 4th edition in 2018.
