On June 28th, AEICE attended the Kickoff meeting of the cross-border cooperation project "Discover Duero Douro". The main challenge of this project is to promote the Duero-Douro axis as a sustainable tourist destination, based on unique experiences which are committed to innovation, quality and emotion transmitted by the landscapes and heritage of this cross-border territory.

Discover Duero Douro will run until 2021 and will contribute to generating socio-economic development and curbing depopulation. It will be developed by a consortium composed of: Fundación Santa María la Real del Patrimonio Histórico (FSMRPH), Agrupación Empresarial Innovadora para la Construcción Eficiente AEICE, Asociación Ibérica de Municipios Ribereños del Duero (AIMRD), Junta de Castilla y León (JCYL), Ayuntamiento de Zamora, Comunidade Intermunicipal das Terras de Tras-os-Montes, Comunidade Intermunicipal do Douro, Associaçao de Municipios do Douro Superior.

The INDNATUR project was launched on 11th July. This project aims to study and test renaturalisation solutions in industrial areas, with pilot tests in Valladolid and Bragança (Portugal). The ultimate goal is environmental, social, economic and cultural improvement of therse spaces. All of this will derive from the combined incorporation of NBS guidelines and sustainable urban drainage systems, both in public and private spaces and buildings, located along a corridor called green-blue.

The official presentation took place at the School of Architecture of the University of Valladolid, the coordinating entity of the project, and was attended by representatives of all participating organizations: in addition to UVa, the consortium is made up of AEICE, Ayuntamiento de Valladolid, Fundación patrimonio Natural de Castilla y León, la Diputación de Ávila, Instituto Politécnico de Braganza and Cámara Municipal de Braganza.
