GIVE B2B event in Riga, Latvia

Third B2B event in the framework of Green ICT Development (GIVE) project was held in Riga, Latvia at RTU Design Factory on 16-17 April 2019. It was organized by Green and Smart Technology Cluster and attaneded by more than 80 companies, clusters, state administartion and other stakeholders coming from 10 countries.  The opening session of the first day started with welcome speech by Mr. Salvis Roga, Board Member of Green-Tech Latvia, after which Ms. Anna Naydenova, Executive Director of ICT Cluster Bulgaria and project manager. She presented how SMEs could benefit from GIVE project activities. 

Next on the agenda was Mr, Aigars Lazdins, Senior Expert at Ministry of Economics with presentation: Cluster as business support tool in Latvia and Baltic Sea Region. Also, different type of SME support through Clusters, collaboration opportunities and support programs were presented by Ms. Jekaterina Vanaga, Project Coordinator at EEN Latvia. The first day continued with excursion through RTU Design Factory and participation at the X-industry hackathon final pitches event organized by Latvian IT Cluster at SEB Innovation Centre.

The second day was opened with a speech by Mr. Kristaps Soms, Director of Entrepreneurship Competitiveness Department at Ministry of Economics followed with presentation of 3B ICT Network by Mr. Dritan Mezini, Executive Director at AITA. During the agenda Mr. Neils Kalnins, Business Development at Electronic Communications Office of Latvia presented the future opportunities enabled 5G- future business models, after which Mr. Martins Velde, Executive Director at Ventspils High-Tech Park shared more information about Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) role in the digital transformation in production. The second day continued with presentations by companies frelated to solutions in digitalization, automation, cybersecurity and robotization. The event ended with B2B meetings. More than 40 meetings among participants was held. 

B2B meetings are significat part of GIVE activities. Totally 6 B2B meetings are planned in six different countries. So far 3 were implemented  in North Macedonia, Albania and Latvia. 

The next one will be in June in Belgarde,  Serbia.
