Gdynia Maritime Economy Forum 2019 can be summarized in one sentence. Despite the cracks and shortcomings, the Polish maritime business remains strong. The Forum gathered in October this year. a record number of about 650 representatives of maritime business, science and administration. For the 19th time, representatives of shipping and shipyards, ports and logistics, universities and research institutes, financial institutions and the maritime business environment met at the Conference Center of the Science and Technology Park in Gdynia.

Forum topics have traditionally focused on highly practical issues, because, as the President of Gdynia Wojciech Szczurek noticed, “representatives of the maritime industry come to Gdynia to discuss matters that they themselves define.” This year, the organizers of the Maritime Economy Forum started a discussion in the following areas: Marine Technologies, Ports and Logistics, Law and Finance and Shipping. A large group of specialists also focused on the “tourist panel”. – “The leading theme of this year’s Maritime Economy Forum are the prospects for the development of Europe’s maritime economies against the backdrop of current global and European events,” said Sławomir Kalicki, substantive leader of the Maritime Economy Forum Gdynia 2019.
