Functional Print Cluster participates in the request for a total of seven innovative projects in a single call for €55 M for this year 2023 from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MINCOTUR) for Innovative Business Groups. The seven projects, the maximum number in which FUNCTIONAL PRINT has participated in the same call. A total of 36 companies and 7 clusters will be involved . The projects add up to a total budget of 1,693,858 euros. This is the maximum amount of aid required so far by the cluster for the AEI

The projects in which the Functional Print Cluster participates are:

SMART STOCK DUOMO 2.0 – Digitization of logistics processes and inventory management with Smart Pressure Sensor

It is an industrial research project formed by the Packaging Cluster, Functional Print Cluster, Corone 2019 SL, Twentic Information and Communication Technologies SL, Rotimpres and Embeblue SL The main objective of this project is the investigation and implementation of automated systems to improve warehouse logistics management, with the aspiration of transforming current models (very mechanical and not very productive) into more efficient, effective and optimal models that seek to convert companies that apply it in more competitive companies.

CRITERION – accelerate cReep lifeTimE PREDICTION

It is an industrial research project formed by the Spanish Center for Plastics- CEP and the Functional Print Cluster together with the companies Leartiker s. Coop, Zatec SA, Radici Plastics Iberica SL, Reiner Isl SL, Data Value Management and Stirling Center. The objective of this project is the development of a new test acceleration methodology in combination with functional printing techniques and artificial intelligence (AI) that makes it possible to predict the behavior of the materials studied in the long term, in execution times acceptable in the industry. current.

IMASS – Intelligent musculoskeletal activities sensing system

It is an industrial research project formed by the GAIA (Association of Knowledge Industries and Applied Technology – GAIA) and the Functional Print Cluster in which the companies Clickers, Purple Blob SL and Imaz Technology Innovation SL participate. The main objective of the project is the Design and development of a biomechanical sensor system, surface electromyography and automatic learning using artificial intelligence for the recognition of manual gestures in real time.

CICLOP 2.0 – Development of an artificial vision system for quality assurance in digital printing processes for large-format coatings.

t is an industrial research project formed by AMBIT (Centre de Difusió Tecnològica Fusta i Moble de Catalunya) and the Functional Print Cluster together with the companies Valls Climent SL, Barnizados Industriales SA and AIS Vision Systems SL Continuation with a second phase (2nd year) of the CICLOP project initiated in the AEIs 2022b call for projects. The objective of the project is to develop a quality assurance system in the production of large-format decorative panels and coverings. The project focuses on the integration of artificial vision technology in digital printing lines for the recognition of defects.

EMI – Intelligent metal structures through electronic sensor printing

It is an industrial research project formed by METAINDUSTRY4 (Cluster for Advanced Manufacturing of the Metal Industry of Asturias) and Functional Print Cluster, together with Rotimpres, Tafco, TSK Electronica Y Electricidad, Gonvarri Ms R&D, Idonial and Know How Innovative Solutions SL. The objective of the project is the design of a sustainable digital printing process capable of developing electronic sensors for the monitoring of metallic structures, providing an intelligent system that allows the transmission of high-value information on the state of structural health remotely.

PACKCompute – Research and generation of a new packaging development model based on the categorization of its sustainability and functionality through computational models

It is an industrial research project formed by the Packaging Cluster (packaging cluster of the Valencian community) and the Functional Print Cluster together with IP3 Desarrollos SL, Ródenas Y Rivera SA, ANIA and NETTRIM TECHNOLOGY SL The main objective of the project is the research and development of a new model for the categorization of sustainability and adaptation of the functionality of the packaging based on new computational models.

PlaiSens – Intelligent Sensorized Platform

It is an industrial research project formed by the SIVI Cluster (Innovative Solutions for Independent Living Cluster) and the Functional Print Cluster together with the Stirling Center, Aspace Salamanca, Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid, Nufesa and Ceteo SL (Center for Transition to Employment). It is a project that is planned in two phases (two years). The main objective for this call (in order to be able to reach the established objective next year) is to explore a technological solution based on the joint use of 4.0 technologies of electronic printing, sensors and artificial intelligence as a demonstrator of the capabilities of the technology, focused on extracting objective data related to the position of the person in decubitus, which allow detecting the risk of suffering developmental alterations in the first year of life, or of developing deformities in the population with neuro-musculoskeletal pathology.

At the Functional Print Cluster we work to prepare new R+D+i initiatives in collaboration with our associates. If you have an innovative project idea and need to find partners or a transfer center and complete a consortium, do not hesitate to contact us. The next call for AEIs from the Ministry of Industry will open in 2024.
