The European Cluster Conference 2016 sets industry 4.0 as a key element and places “Advanced Packaging” as one of the 10 emerging industries in Europe.

The Packaging Cluster participated together with other clusters members of the Catalonia Clusters Program at the fifth edition of the European Cluster Conference 2016, held on 1st-2nd December in Brussels.

The European conference, which had a strong program, was attended by members of the European Commission, policy experts and cases of success and international projects of different clusters. The program served to work and discuss proposals in areas such as internationalization, digitization and circular economy (see summary of presentations).

It is worth to mention the presentation of Dr. Christian Ketels of the Harvard Business School, who took advantage of the event to present the new “European Cluster Panorama 2016” report which places “Advanced Packaging” among the 10 areas of biggest growth in Europe, and at the same time, positions Catalonia as the second European region with a larger number of new growth companies.

Coinciding with the meeting, which brought together more than 300 people, the day before was used to make B2B meetings between clusters across Europe, where hundreds of meetings were scheduled between clusters managers, which facilitates the internationalization of the Packaging Cluster and promotes performances and projects at European level.
