European Business Mission to Seattle is about to start

Submitted by Julien Dubois on 08 February 2017

The first of EACP ABROAD projecttotally six international business missions organized by the EACP ABROAD consortium is about to start next week. 30 participants from 17 companies, 2 clusters and 3 public institutions will explore for one week business opportunities in the Pacific Northwest of the United States of America.

The region around Seattle has grown to the worlds' largest aerospace cluster. Being home not only of Boeing but of an ecosystem of aeronautics, space and other relevant sectors, the region covers the entire aerospace value chain and is an important partner within the global aerospace industry.

The European group will meet with officials of a number of relevant companies, from Washington State and the local aerospace cluster organizations in order to support European enterprises in expanding their global footprint in the aerospace industry.

One of the anchors during the mission will be the participation at the PNAA-conference 2017, the largest aerospace supply chain conference on the U.S. West coast. PNAA (Pacific North-West Aerospae Alliance) is a cluster organization that collaborates for many years with Niedersachsen Aviation, who organizes the mission on the european side.

EACP ABROAD is an ambitious project to implement EACP‘s joint internationalisation strategy. Being recognized as a European Strategic Cluster Partnership (ESCP4i) in the EU-COSME programme to support Small and Medium sized enterprises in Europe, EACP ABROAD supports the expansion of a global co-operation framework between aerospace clusters.

ABROAD proposes a programme that will

  • deepen links between EACP members and foreign regions on a global scale
  • introduce European SMEs on international level
  • foster new international businesses and the emergence of international R&T co-operations
  • provide international matchmaking opportunities
  • participate at international matchmaking events
  • induce operational collaboration with the international partners.

EACP is proud to collaborate with the Pacific North-West Aerospace Alliance to interconnect our industry worldwide!

The European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP) is a network of 40 European aerospace clusters from 15 countries. The EACP provides a permanent platform for mutual exchange, policy learning, and cooperation to achieve high-level performance among European aerospace clusters.
