EnergyIN and Basque Energy Cluster have participated in a matchmaking with Brazilian clusters and companies in Lyon

Submitted by Ander González on 15 December 2016

The event held in Lyon from 29th November to 1st December, coinciding with the POLLUTEC Fair, has enjoyed significant Brazilian participation: 14 organisations including associations, agencies, municipalities and 15 companies from the renewable energy and environment sectors. As for Europe, 17 European clusters interested in promoting the activity of their members in Brazil participated.

As part of the project REINA PLUS, two of its partners, EnergyIN and the Basque Energy Cluster, have taken part in these business meetings, organised by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) and the Low Carbon Business Action Brazil (LCBAB) to identify business opportunities in the Renewable Energy sector in Brazil. The Energy Cluster had a dozen B2B meetings which were scheduled in advance, based on mutual interest. Some of these interviews represent interesting contacts for Basque companies wishing to enter the Brazilian market as potential commercial partners and technicians at photovoltaic, hydro, biomass plants, etc.

The perception of a relative improvement in the country's economic climate can be confirmed along with its commitment to extend renewable energy to help cover the expected increase in energy demand in Brazil. We invite members of the Cluster to ask us for further information regarding the Brazilian companies interviewed.
