The current situation of world health crisis and the State of Alarm decreed in Spain has caused that all companies, entities and organizations have had to take exceptional measures to confront this problem. From Packaging Cluster, it has wanted to show the maximum support to its members and, therefore, an online session has been organized in which the economic measures adopted by the Government in support of companies have been explained to the more than 70 participants , with the team of financial professionals of ToGrowfy, and with the support of the Catalan Water Partnership.

The welcome to the session and its moderation has been led by Àlex BrossaCluster Manager of Packaging Cluster, and Xavier AmoresCluster Manager of Catalan Water Partnership. Both have emphasized the predisposition of the clusters to carry out actions and activities that serve to support the associates in these difficult times.

Àngels TadeoFiscal and Labor Partner of ToGrowfy, has begun the session summarizing the economic measures adopted in Royal Decree Law 7/2020, 12th of March, which offers facilities for deferrals of tax debts in the administrative field, as well as Royal Decree 8/2020, 17th of March, by which extraordinary urgent measures are adopted to resolve the economic and social impact of COVID-19.

In the situation in which we find ourselves, the town halls will try to act against the payment deadlines, which companies have to face, thus responding to all kinds of requirements as easily as possible. For now, everything is paralyzed until next 30th of April 30, if things do not change.

While, to the management of the staff, Àngels has exposed the resources available by the entities, such as: an agreed 15-day vacation period, ERTE, teleworking, medical leave due to work accident or unpaid services, where vacations would not count. The famous ERTE has been at the center of various questions and the consequences of applying it have been evaluated, for the company and for the workers.

On the other hand, Argelia Garcia, CEO of ToGrowfy, has spoken about possible financing, as well as liquidity loans for the company through the ICO and ICF, as well as other aspects related to economic management.

Algeria stresses that at this time “it is essential to maintain payments, avoiding a chain of defaults” and for this the support of all institutions is key, such as the Institut Català de Finances of Catalonia, which will support any entity arranged in the ICF, in addition to the loans that the Instituto de Crédito Oficial Estatal will offer. She informs us that all entities are organizing strategic plans to face the extraordinary conditions we are experiencing these days, to adapt to current needs.

Finally, through the chat incorporated in the CISCO WEBEX MEETING platform, the participants were launching the questions they had in this regard and were finally resolved by the financial experts. To these questions, we have added those that were previously sent through the email of the cluster.

Packaging Cluster will continue working to offer the maximum service to its members, through initiatives such as those mentioned and any session that promotes the improvement of the current situation. In this sense, the Catalan cluster network is preparing a package of webinars to update the information and help companies to take more appropriate measures at home.
