CTA publishes a scientific paper on agri-food digitization in the Open Access Government journal

  • The article explains the results of the EU project DIVA, which has funded 134 projects of 180 European innovative SMEs to accelerate the digitization of the agri-food, forestry and enviromental sectors.

CTA has published a scientific article in the Open Access Government journal to disseminate the EU project DIVA results and its contribution to the digitization of the agri-food, forestry and environmental sectors in Europe.

The Agri-food Technical Officer, Nathalie Chavrier, and the consultant Macarena Ureña have coordinated the elaboration of this paper. The project coordinator, ASOI, and the partners InesTEC and H-Farm have also colaborated in the article.

The article analyzes the transnational challenges and the opportunities in the digitization of the aforementioned sectors, and offers a number of recommendations aimed at SMEs and public administrations to accelerate the process.

DIVA project has funded 134 projects of 180 innovative SMEs, from 9 European countries, through 2 open calls which received nearly 400 proposals. Out of which, 36 SMEs were Spanish.

About the project

CTA is one of the 10 partners from 6 EU countries participating in EU project DIVA, with a budget of more than € 4M for 3 years and funded by Horizon 2020 (H2020) programme.

The main challenge has been to reduce the gap between ITC providers and the European agri-food industry. In addition to the calls, DIVA has provided innovation support services, has created a network of experts to support the SMEs and has mapped the regionnal aids for technological development in Europe, among other actions.
