The Basque Energy Cluster has shown the potential of Basque companies in the value chain of thermosolar power within the CSP Today Sevilla event, the 10th International Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Summit, which took place on 9 and 10 November.

Over 200 experts from the international solar thermal market have participated at the annual CSP Today Sevilla event, the main European summit for concentrated solar power. Different speakers have presented studies on operating and future plants, showing the innovations and practical improvements that are been implemented by developers, engineering firms and construction companies. The speeches included those by two companies belonging to the Basque Energy Cluster, SENER and INGETEAM, which presented their engineering capacity and some of their most recent CSP projects.

At the exhibition area beside the conference site, the brand CSP Basque Country was present with a stand coordinated by the Basque Energy Cluster. At this stand the capacities of the Basque companies in this sector, which cover a large range of products and services within the value chain, were showcased. Eleven representatives from seven companies belonging to the Basque Energy Cluster attended the event.

The theme of the 2016 CSP Today summit focused mainly on the optimisation of technology leading to a levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) and the analysis of the potential of the countries that are committing to this source of energy, among which Morocco, South Africa and China stand out.
