From 6th to 10th February, experts from the Advanced Petroleum Consultants (APC) consultancy firm advised four companies of the sector on the definition of their strategies to boost their presence in the Norwegian Oil & Gas market.

The project has emerged from the collaboration of four companies in the Oil & Gas Work Group to further their access to the Norwegian market, given its interest as a direct market, with various new platforms in the launch phase (greenfield) and an extensive base for maintenance and repair activities (brownfield), and for being the headquarters of many global EPC engineering firms and companies.

The work undertaken by the APC consultancy firm with each of the companies has consisted of a launch meeting, a day of visits to each company to learn first hand about its profile and main capacities and a final workshop at the IK4-Tekniker facilities to work on defining the best strategy to enter the Norwegian market in line with their interests, potential and expectations. The APC team was made up of Thomas Jørpeland, with over 20 years experience as Supply Management Director in companies like Aker Solutions and Talisman, and Trond Inge Ramsnes, with 35 years experience as technical manager in companies like Statoil, ABB or Hulliburton, specialised in the subsea field.

Following this exercise, the next phase will focus on the implementation of the defined strategies by each of the participating companies. Given the success of the experience, continuity of the project with other companies that may be interested in increasing their presence in the Norwegian market is being evaluated.
