The tool makes it easy to transform organizations and their environment into a changing world like the current one

The study assesses, individually and in contrast with the group, the real needs, strengths and weaknesses of the person being evaluated to take actions according to those needs

In the last Packaging Cluster’s Strategic Dive, Albert Riba (Sapiens Mindset) explained the transformative skills of the People Analytics app, methodology developed together with the Universitat de Barcelona, since it study people who form an organization. As a demonstration, some questionnaires were passed to several of the Immersion’s attendees and now we share with you the results.

SAPIENS MINDSET AS A METHODOLOGY

First, it is worth to mention that three different questionnaires were done to evaluate 13 principles, based on indexes: Sapiens, Prevention and Reference. Participants’ answers to issues such as fear, change, failure or comfort zone were studied, allowing a diagnosis of the initial situation, and then taking the necessary action. This first step is called Screening.

The next step in the evaluation is the Assessment, in other words, actions that has been taken based on the previous diagnosis. This phase, still to be carried out, is modified according to the user and the objectives he or she want to achieve and it’s tracked what allows the results to be evaluated after the action.

Finally, it is carry out a 360-degree analysis, Profiled, where several observers, using 12 definitions, asses how the individual face change and adversity, to improve self-perceptions, objectivity and bias management.

The Sapiens index valued the level of transformation of the person being evaluated according to the category in which they were included, in order to take a picture of the situation of the industry. The classification categories of the participants were as follows: Graphic arts and printing, Association, Technological and/or teaching centre, Designer, Distributor or handler, Packaging manufacturer, Technological supplier and Suppliers of the manufacturers. The conclusions were quite positive, highlighting the Suppliers of the manufacturers, who are 12.5% above the average, so it is understood that the culture of innovation is being introduced into the modus operandi of the companies studied.

The Prevention index estimated the ability to prevent problems and anticipate them from the interviewees. The conclusions showed very high values, which is very beneficial to minimize risks if this quality is used. High levels of prevention also indicate a need to bet on transformation and risk, since if we want to innovate, we must leave the comfort zone. The Graphic Arts and Printing category has a 4.6% positive percentage compared to the other categories, positioning it as the group’s largest forecaster, although all those evaluated consider this point very important and convey a clear conscience.

Finally, the Reference index, as its name indicates, demonstrates the desire to be a reference for others in what they do or work. The results, although positive, are lower than it should be. It would be necessary to bet on being referents in transformation, as well as changemakers and offer tools that help achieve this objective, like the category of Graphic Arts and printing which tops the list with 6.8%.

The aim of this study was to offer participants a personal approach that would inspire positive change, both at the individual level and within the company, thus fostering a culture of innovation.

If you are interested in expanding your knowledge in this methodology, you can attend to the innovation lunch that we have organized together with Sapiens Mindset for next January 27th, at the facilities of the Technological Centre Leitat.
