Block.IS

Block.IS is a new acceleration programme that aims to build an open and collaborative cross-border, cross-sectoral innovation ecosystem that fosters the use of blockchain technology in three vital sectors for the European economy: agrifood, logistics and finance. Block.IS accelerator will support SMEs and start-ups from the ICT sector all the way from ideation to commercialisation offering them tailored business and technical support as well as direct funding.

“Financing SME Growth & Innovation” was the main focus of the FinTech 4 Business Forum that was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 4th June 2019. The Forum was established to introduce SMEs and the business community in Serbia to business solutions and alternative ways of financing offered by modern technologies in the field of finance (FinTech). Local and international experts discussed tech solutions, trends and opportunities offered by FinTech.

The Forum gathered all key stakeholders in the FinTech market, including small business owners across all industry sectors, regulators, freelancers, IT (blockchain) companies, bankers and representatives of other financial institutions, private investment funds, financial and business consultants and lawyers. The event was officially opened by Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Kyle Scott, the current United States Ambassador to Serbia.

The FinTech 4 Business Forum was joined by an incredible group of visionaries, creators, entrepreneurs and top experts to share their insights and expertise. It was the perfect event for Block.IS to be presented to Serbian and international FinTech community and representatives of InoSens and VOICT effectively built a network with relevant stakeholders. As the event brought high-level officials, it was well-covered in Serbian media and several interviews were given to the national broadcaster and relevant national media.

Mladen Radišić of InoSens presented the project to the Forum audience and the presentation received excellent feedback, especially from Serbian SMEs and start-up owners that showed interest in applying for the accelerator programme.
