On 14-16 of February took place in Milan at University of Milan Bicocca the Bioeconomy Business Exchange, which is one of the ClusterXChange implemented by HempClub project to better connect Europe’s industrial ecosystem. ClusterXChange pilot scheme aims to facilitate transnational cooperation, peer learning, networking and innovation uptake between actors of different industrial clusters. The Bioeconomy Business Exchange was a great opportunity to share knowledge and commercial opportunities in the bioeconomy, enhance collaboration and networking among actors of EU bioeconomy value chains and learn about the potential of hemp as sustainable biomass.

On the first day, all Exchange participants had the opportunity to meet and know more and share knowledge about the potential of hemp and the importance of bioeconomy. Moreover, during this first meeting, several interactive activities took place, allowing participants to create networking and cooperation opportunities.

During the second day took place the “Circular Bioeconomy Conference: enabling sustainability and resilience”, aims to highlight how the transition to a circular bioeconomy can overcome the challenges of our times. The event showed ongoing research projects on circularity and waste recovery, the implementation of bioeconomy models in businesses and a final digression on the opportunities of industrial hemp. In the afternoon, a B2match session between members belonging to different companies was carried out to build European partnerships.

Finally, on the third day, participants visited three industrial companies (Senini, Vegea and Prigen), dedicated to implement business solutions in the bioeconomy sector.

We want to thank all the participants from eight different European countries who were present at this ClusterXchange and the companies that hosted us during the tour. Stay updated to don’t miss the next knowledge, networking, cooperation, and dissemination opportunities provided by the ClusterXChange pilot scheme in the context of HempClub project!
