The most important annual marine energy forum in France, Seanergy 2019, welcomed more than 200 exhibitors and 2,000 attendees from countries all over the world. BIMEP, DITREL and the Basque Energy Agency (EVE) participated as exhibitors together with the Basque Energy Cluster at a stand grouped under the brand name 'Wave Energy Basque Country'.

SEANERGY 2019 was held on 5 and 7 June in Dunkirk and brought together the main companies, institutions and cluster associations linked to marine energy. It is considered the most important international event in the marine energy sector in France and the Basque Energy Cluster promoted the participation of a joint stand under the brand 'Wave Energy Basque Country', which brings together the most important Basque companies and entities in the wave energy sector.

BIMEPDITREL and the Basque Energy Agency (EVE) participated as exhibitors together with the Basque Energy Cluster at the stand Wave Energy Basque Country’, representing the Basque references in the field of wave energy through an outstanding presence in the exhibition area.

During this international event, the European project ELBE (Europe Leading Blue Energy), coordinated by the Basque Energy Cluster in collaboration with clusters from Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and Scotland, was also exhibited at the stand. The Europe Leading Blue Energy (ELBE) project is part of the European Union DG GROWTH ‘Cluster Go International’ programme and has been selected as the only representative of the energy sector during the recent call. This also acknowledges the importance of the bodies represented by these clusters in the current European leadership of marine energy technological development and in particular wave, tidal and floating wind power which are part of this initiative scope.

The fair also offered technical sessions at the conferences and a pitching area where Dorleta Marina (BIMEP) presented the BLUEGIFT project, to support the development of tests on testing infrastructures.

In addition to the conferences throughout the two fair days, B2B meetings organised by the EEN (Enterprise Europe Network) were also held.
