The Basque Energy Cluster actively took part at the “Basque Industry 4.0” stand that the Basque Department for Economic Development and Infrastructure and the SPRI organised for the 2017 Hannover Messe (24-28 April).

The “Basque Industry 4.0” stand, which was officially opened by Arantza Tapia, Regional Minister of Economic Development and Infrastructure, aimed to present at such an important international event as Hannover Messe the Basque Country’s Advanced Manufacturing strategy, and to position the strengths and capabilities of the Basque industry in terms of new digital technology applied to processes, products and industrial services (known as “Manufacturing 4.0”).

During the week, companies, technology centres and Basque clusters presented a wide range of projects and held events at the stand connected with the “Basque Industry 4.0”. As part of this programme, the Basque Energy Cluster presented the Basque Technological and Industrial Development Strategy (EnergiBasque), focusing especially on priority actions aligned with the field of Advanced Manufacturing. The organisation specifically talked about the following initiatives in greater detail: WINDBOX, the Advanced Manufacturing Centre for integration and validation of wind power subsystems through advanced tests, and “HARSH-LAB”, offshore product test and validation infrastructure, which will be situated in Bimep. Stand visitors were given catalogues for the four “Basque Country” brands, the Bidelek Sareak video and the “BI 4.0” magazine with an article describing Windbox. The Basque Energy Cluster also took part in a Matchmaking event organised by Hannover Messe, where it was able to meet other European and German clusters and study collaboration opportunities. Other companies that belong to the Basque Energy Cluster also had their own stands: Arteche, Merytronic, Uriarte-Safybox, Jaure, Lazpiur, Pronutec, Fanox, Iraundi. And other member companies like Hine and Ormazabal visited the “Basque Industry 4.0” stand and the Energy pavilions at the trade fair.
