10th International Maritime Congress

The inauguration of the jubilee edition of the International Maritime Congress will take place on June 27, at the Szczecin Castle Opera House, while the second day of the Congress will be held at the Conference Center of the Radisson Blu Hotel. Honorary patronage and substantive supervision of the event will be provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure, co-organizer of the Congress. From the perspective of the past decade, it can be said that the Congress has become the most important event of the widely understood maritime economy in Poland, of international significance, addressing the most important issues of the industry. It has become a substantive forum for the discussion of issues of strategic importance to the maritime economy, maritime transport, the development of ports, inland shipping, shipbuilding, energy, environmental protection, finance and insurance in these areas. Marek Gróbarczyk, deputy minister of infrastructure responsible for maritime economy on behalf of the government, admits that the anniversary congress will be an excellent opportunity to highlight the importance of the offshore industry for the development of Polish ports and the country's energy security. - Especially since the discussion phase is over, and we have moved on to the implementation phase of investments that increase the potential of our ports, expansion of gas terminals, container terminals, construction of installation and service ports related to offshore wind turbines, etc. The minister recalls in passing the record transshipments in our ports last year, exceeding 133 million tons, indicating their strategic importance in the national economy. - These results are not accidental, they are the result of consistently implemented strategies by port managements, infrastructure investments, bold decisions and, of course, the work of thousands of people," Marek Gróbarczyk stresses. The organizers assure that the anniversary congress will be an opportunity to reflect and take stock of the whole decade in the industry, but at the same time an opening for the next decade. Discussions are planned on new challenges and threats for ports, shipowners and ferry operators, production and repair shipyards, etc. The development of infrastructure for international transport corridors, inland waterways, and intermodal and multimodal transportation routes will be the subject of debates. The organizers anticipate many presentations related to energy security, logistics, insurance, digitalization in the maritime industry. There will be discussions on maritime education, the aforementioned financial, legislative, legal, environmental issues. With June's 10th International Maritime Congress, we will close and sum up the past decade, and make an opening for the maritime industry for the next decade, the organizers announced. The organizer of the Event is the Maritime Cluster of Western Pomerania. Co-organizers are: Ministry of Infrastructure, exercising at the same time Honorary Patronage and substantive supervision, and Szczecin and Swinoujscie Sea Ports Authority, Maritime Congress Foundation. The media patronage is held by the economic portal Polska Morska.
