Transylvania Studios Project
Within the Cluster was formed an interest group with regard to film. The discussions started in the beginning of 2017 with the clear intention of accessing European funding – Operational Programme on Competitiveness, Action 1.1.1. Big Infrastructures for Research- Development – Innovation Clusters. The project initiative refers to the development of the film industry in the North-West region of Romania and is putting Cluj-Napoca on the map of the big film production centers. The project proposal, “Transylvania Studios”, is meant to be a collaborative project of the Cluster for Creative Industries Transylvania together with the well-known Cluj-Napoca Universities ( Technical University, Art and Design University, Babes-Bolyai University), the Cluj-Napoca Municipality, and companies coming from the private area and having as object of activity the film industry.
The objective of the project is the development of the research and development infrastructure for creative industries: film production studio, research center, creative hub, render farm, sound studio, new media studio, editing stations, scenography workshops.
We consider that this project has a very high complexity of objectives and activities, as described above, is in accordance with the Cluster’s strategic objectives and for sure will have a positive impact on the majority of the Cluster participants and industry in general, because it will offer the necessary infrastructure for most of the companies that operate in the creative industries field.
