About us

The objectives of the Silesian IoT Cluster SINOTAIC are:

- to create an ecosystem that will take advantage of the excellence in quality,  experience, expertise of the Silesian entities - with the special focus on the SMEs - to develope cutting-edge technological, market oriented global technology solutions for various smart industries,

- create technological solutions that will be cyber secure by implementing "security by design" approach in all technological projects,

- provide services for SMEs that foster implementation of digital and smart solutions in their processes and thus supporting the implementation of the concept of Industry 4.0,

- to cooperate with other European Clusters and organisations working in the area of IoT - making it secure, accessible in the service of the society.

The aim is to create an ecosystem that will join the forces of different types of entities: SMEs, large companies, universities, research institutes, local authorities, NGOs to help transform the economy towards more efficient and environmental friendly as well as to help the Silesia region and all other regions in transition to make a pass from the heavy industry to the economy based on the most innovative technologies.

Silesia 4.0 - regional programme fostering digitization of the SMEs on Silesia Region, Poland

Thanks to the internal Cluster cooperation SINOTAIC coordinated by Smart Secure Networks LLC, within less than a year, with use of just self financing, has created a regional program "Silesia 4.0" providing 360 degree services for SMEs to assist them in digitisation of all their processses including automation/ robotisation of their production/services. programme "Silesia 4.0" had been launched thanks to support and cooperation with Silesia Region Government and its agencies: Silesian Entrepreneurship Centre, inSilesia. "Silesia 4.0" programm's services include:

- on-line seminars, webinars for SMEs on benefis and opportunities coming from digitization,

- audit and assessment of technological readiness of SMEs, 

- guidance in the area of the innovation assesment before implementation according to SMEs real needs,

- consultancy in the area of the innovation development and fundraising/investment,

- offering of the technological solutions created by Cluster members and designed especially for SMEs, in which energy efficiency and cybersecurity play very important role,

- adjustment of implementation of technological components to the current level of advancement and needs of SMEs,

- support in financing the implementation of the digital solutions in SMEs with use of different financial tools including co-financing from national and European funds. 

- internationalization services.

Silesian IoT Cluster SINOTAIC through building strong partnerships with regional industrial organisations, research intitutes, academia, NGOs, technological centres, government agencies and local authorities has practically created DIH focused on providing wide selection of services for SMEs. Silesian IoT Cluster SINOTAIC works with the  institutional support of the Silesia Region Government and cooperates closely with its various departments and agencies.

The goal is to foster development of the Industry 4.0 market in particular in the Silesia region by helping SMEs in smart, efficient, cost effective digitization of all processes and robotization and through it to help the region in transformation from heavy, coal-based industry to modern, ecological, clean IoT based economy.

Silesia Region Government had supported and financed online seminars and promotion of the " Silesia 4.0" programme.

Universal robotic station I 4.0 

Also as a result of the cooperation within the Silesian IoT & AI Cluster a universal Robotic Station I 4.0 was created. Station I 4.0  includes a multifunctional robotic arm, a transportation system, a processes management and monitoring component. Station I 4.0 meets the criteria of Industry 3.0 and Industry 4.0. It is equipped with a  platform that is combining various technical layers by means of communication protocols, creating a single management center that enables easy decision making and reports generating. It allows the collection of data in regard of production (Big Data), energy efficiency (ISO50001 - IPOE) with reduction of CO2 emissions, and effective communication with the user. In the field of cybersecurity I 4.0 nas been equipped with a breakthrough solution for Human-to-Machine communication  - a passwordless authentication and communication system between the operator and the station.

The system allows remote monitoring of the production parameters, real-time statistics, business metrics, quality indicators or images from CCTV cameras. Station I 4.0 enables automatic collection of a detail from the transportation system, its recognition and finishing of the detail. The applied vision cameras system enables automatic quality control.

Station I 4.0 is a pattern model for building a modern production stations, perfect for small and medium plants, enabling building production management centers, implementing components of the Industry 4.0 at the SMEs. The layered construction of the Station enables the transition from classic automation systems of Industry 3.0 to Industry 4.0 by connecting to the Internet, using a specially created „digital layer” enabling advanced analytical systems for Predictive Maintenance. 

Technological side of Station I 4.0 is designed in such a way that it can be used regardless of the production characteristics, types of  systems and equipment used at present by the client. The versatility and modularity of the system allows the implementation of either the entire system or its components depending on the degree of readyness of the SME and the specific needs of the enterprise.

Station I 4.0 components in the field of industrial automation and software have the required quality, management and energy efficiency certificates required in industrial systems. The cybersecurity component meets the most strict requirements of the EU regulations for the protection of user data at the international level including EU GDPR directive.

The world premiere of Robotic station I 4.0 was possible thanks to generous support of Silesia Region Government at Silesia Expo Area during European Economic Congress in September 2020 in Katowice, Poland.

Nomination for EDIH

As a recognition of its work, activities and the created network of actors the Silesian IoT Cluster SINOTAIC, after positive evaluation of submitted proposal has been nominated by the Polish Ministry od Labour, Technology and Development as a candidate for European Digital Innovation Hub in the area of IoT on the National level. In the framework of the DIH application Silesian IoT Cluster SINOTAIC had established cooperation with various regional authorities such as City of Katowice, City of Gdańsk, City and municipality of Stalowa Wola.
