About us

MAI Carbon is a Leading Edge Cluster located in Bavaria that has developed in recent years into an internationally visible lighthouse in the field of fibre-reinforced plastics (FRP) and represents a self-contained innovation ecosystem. The cluster was founded in 2012 and addresses the three core industries of aerospace, automotive, plant engineering and mechanical engineering, for which the MAI region is also internationally renowned. MAI Carbon is a leading cluster department within Carbon Composites e.V.. (CCeV) is integrated into an even larger competence network. CCeV bundles the competencies of various companies, research institutions and educational institutions in German-speaking countries and abroad and is the largest German-speaking association on the subject of high-performance FRP.  MAI Carbon bundles various fields of action which mean added value for the MAI Carbon partners. These include - Technology development through joint projects along the value chain - Marketing for the material - Organisation of specific events, working groups and workshops - Internationalisation measures in various countries - Networking and bringing partners together - Social media campaigns for various target groups - Training and further education work and sensitization to the material over generations - Preparation of studies - Strategy development processes for Bavaria as a business location to secure know-how and knowledge advantage as well as related jobs
