LYONBIOPOLE
Overview
About us
As a biocluster, Lyonbiopole is the one-stop shop for healthcare innovation in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region, France. It aims to support the emergence and development of innovative technologies, products and services in 4 main strategic areas: human medicine, veterinary medicine, in vitro diagnostics, medical devices and medical technologies. Focused on infectious diseases since its creation in 2005, Lyonbiopole is now supporting ambitious projects and companies in other fields like cancer, nutrition, metabolic diseases and neurosciences. In 2020, Lyonbiopole represented a community of 245 members: 6 world-class leaders (Sanofi Pasteur, bioMérieux, Boehringer Ingelheim, BD, Merck) – 19 Research Centers including 3 Hospital University Centers and almost 220 SMEs. Since 2015, Lyonbiopole has been certified by the Gold label awarded by the "European Cluster Excellence Initiative".
Its main missions are to:
- Stimulate innovation (offering network and partnership opportunities)
- Support SMEs development (access to private funds, business support...)
- Strengthen the cluster's international position
- Develop a high-level infrastructure offer (proposing fully equipped platform of excellence (BSL2/BSL3 Labs, dedicated biomanufacturing & bioanalyses facilities, etc.).
