"H&A MINI-MASTER FOR TECHNICAL INSTITUTES TEACHERS"
Human resources training has always been recognized as central by the Lombardia Aerospace Cluster, for business development of the entire Lombardia aerospace system.
With reference to high school training support, Lombardia Aerospace Cluster signed two Memorandum of Understanding with Regional School Office, Confindustria Lombardia and Regione Lombardia, the first in 2011 and the second in 2014.
Thanks to these agreements, Lombardia Aerospace Cluster, with the support of Education&Training Working Group, launched two editions of H&A Mini-Master, in collaboration with LIUC-Università Cattaneo, for Technical Institutes teachers, focusing on aerospace issues.
In this way, the Cluster aims to consolidate its participants’ connection with educational Institutions, sharing with teachers the future directions in which the aerospace industry is going and, above all, trying to translate these informations into effective educational actions for the future employment of young people and for the increase of companies competitiveness.
The first edition, in 2011, trained 34 teachers and involved 5 schools, offering a total of 60 training hours; the second edition, in 2015-16, trained more than 23 teachers and involved 12 schools located in the provinces of Milano and Varese, offering a total of 40 training hours, divided into 8 afternoon meetings of which half classroom and half in the companies.
"CERTIFICATION PROJECT"
In 2013 Lombardia Aerospace Cluster, with the collaboration of Supply chain Working Group, launched a support program for non-certified SME companies to obtain the necessary aerospace and space certifications (EN 9100, Part 45, Nadcap).
It was assumed that, nowadays, certification represents a fundamental requirement to operate in the industry, due to the international Prime contractors’ renovation of supply chain.
The Cluster’s goal was to map out a common path for SMEs for certification achievement, considering them as a key component of their business and essential to achieve significant competitive advantage. It was based on two broad areas of actions: Training and Tutoring.
The project involved almost 15 companies in tutoring activities and almost 80 employees in training courses.
In 2015 all the 15 involved companies, celebrated the conclusion of the initiative with a total of 19 in coming certifications.
The success of the project lies in the effective collaboration between Large Enterprises and SMEs with a dual purpose: to support the growth and the development of Lombardy aerospace industry, strengthening the existing supply chain relationships, and to provide SMEs with the strength to present themselves independently on international markets.
