Berlin-Brandenburg Aerospace Allianz e.V. (BBAA)
Overview
About us
The Berlin-Brandenburg Aerospace Alliance is the association of the aerospace industry in the German capital region (Berlin and Brandenburg). Its 78 members - from highly specialized small businesses to globally active corporations, research institutions and universities - represent the majority of the approximately 17,000 people living in Berlin and Brandenburg from the aerospace industry.
In 1998, eleven founding members from companies and economic development built the BBAA to strengthen the regional aerospace industry. Since then, it has been the objective and task of the BBAA to actively link the players from industry, science and politics, and to support the further development of aerospace in Berlin and Brandenburg through targeted activities. The focus is on setting up and maintaining the network between the regional actors, the acquisition of locations and the initiation and support of strategic cooperation and innovation projects. For example, the BBAA is participating in the nationwide Supply Chain Excellence Initiative, which accompanies and supports companies in the aerospace industry with the structural change that has begun (www.german-aerospace.de).
The BBAA has an extensive network of contacts with companies, scientific institutions as well as ministries and authorities in Germany and abroad. The association is an associate member of the BDLI and is involved in the European Association of the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP). The BBAA uses its network of contacts to increase the visibility of regional players beyond the borders of Berlin and Brandenburg and to improve international competitiveness. Therefore, the association organizes special forums and conferences and is in regular contact with political decision-makers. In addition, the BBAA organizes various event formats such as the annual "Tag der Luft- und Raumfahrt" and the award of the Lilienthal Prize, thereby creating effective platforms for dialogue between business, science and politics. The BBAA also offers its members and partners the opportunity to present innovative developments, products and services at major trade fairs and industry exhibitions such as ILA.
